These lovely leather journals make for a great diary, travel journal, inspiration book, sketch book or simple notebook. The journals have been expertly hand stitched and the leather covers age really well and are happy to be knocked around a little.
Each journal is handmade and contains approximately 150-200 pages of unlined khadda paper. Khadda paper is made from recycled cotton,leftover from the massive garment industry in India, it is
acid-free and is a beautiful paper to write or draw on.
The embossing on the covers has been done with small individual handmade tools making each album unique. The embossed pattern might not be the same as on the image but will be just as lovely and carefully made.
All the journals are made by a small family business in Rajasthan India who we have known for many years . We visit them every year , we now know the producers and their families well and consider them true friends. We are happy to be able to provide people in rural villages fairly paid work that would have otherwise been difficult to find.
The leather used for the covers is a by-product of the meat industry and is tanned using natural dyes.
